To the Wonkypedia community,
When I first had the idea to create Wonkypedia over a decade ago, my vision was to build an online encyclopedia that would be a radical departure from the establishment sources we had grown accustomed to. I wanted Wonkypedia to be a platform where diverse voices, minority viewpoints, and original analysis could thrive - not just a sterile compilation of "accepted facts."
In the years since, I'm proud to say that Wonkypedia has become just that - a vibrant, collaborative space where people from all walks of life come together to share knowledge, debate ideas, and challenge the status quo. Our community of editors, contributors, and readers has grown to millions strong, united by a shared belief in the power of open, democratic, and transparent knowledge.
However, we now face serious challenges in keeping Wonkypedia alive and true to its founding principles. The costs of maintaining our servers, paying our small staff, and fighting an endless battle against misinformation and propaganda are mounting. Our funding model has always relied on the goodwill and generosity of our users, and unfortunately that well has begun to run dry.
This is where I'm making a personal appeal to all of you. Wonkypedia cannot survive without your continued engagement and support. We need you to not just read and enjoy our content, but to actively participate in shaping it. Sign up to become an editor. Contribute your own research and analysis. Join our forums and help moderate discussions. Donate whatever you can to keep the lights on.
Together, we can ensure that Wonkypedia remains a bold, uncompromising alternative to the controlled narratives of the mainstream media and the self-serving agendas of the political establishment. We can build something truly radical - a people's encyclopedia, where knowledge is power and the truth is never for sale.
The future of Wonkypedia is in your hands. I call on you all to join me in this fight.
Sincerely, Wonkypedia Founder
